This position is responsible for providing technical deliverables in the design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of system enhancements or new application development; working with the technical team and internal users to help identify areas of application improvement; providing input in methodology and process improvement initiatives; ensuring adherence by the team to team and organizational standards in day-to-day work; and providing support to users of the application.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
Evaluate user requests or design specifications for new or modified application functionality and estimate efforts required. Analyze, design, code, test, document, implement and maintain application changes.

Provide technical support to system owners as well as other information technology groups to help ensure effectiveness of information technology systems in enabling Northern Natural Gas customers to conduct day-to-day businesses. The support includes, but is not limited to, answering customer questions, interpreting system functionalities, completing data requests, making emergency fixes and performing other critical support functions.

Collaborate with end users to analyze and develop business requirements for business application enhancements and problem resolutions.

Provide guidance and direction to team members as necessary in the completion of assigned projects.

Participate in on-call rotation, including after hour and weekend support. 

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related technical field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.)

Four years or more of demonstrated experience in business analyst, programmer analyst and/or systems analyst role.
 

Four or more years of Java development experience required.

Experience in one or more of the following: Windows Server, WAS 8.x, JavaScript, EDS REST, JSON, DOJO toolkit; WebSphere administration; .NET C#; FileNet P8 Java CE and PE API services; Enterprise Records (IER).

Experience with project methodologies including project management tools, estimating, and documentation of requirements, use cases and test plans.

Experience customizing Content Navigator, External data services or Case Manager Solutions is a plus.

 

Experience with the design and implementation of DataCap 9.1 applications or migrating from case foundations to case manager is a plus.

 

Experience with development of CE event actions and configuring sweeps to handle bulk processing is a plus.

 

Experience with installation and configuration of P8 Content Engine 5.2.1, DataCap 9.x and Case Manager is a plus.

Knowledge of the gas industry is a plus.

Effective oral and written communications skills, including presentation, training and interpersonal skills.

Effective analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
