Opportunity: Security Officer-Various Shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) - Onsite - Columbus, Georgia
Job Summary
Patrols company-owned property and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates; monitors entrance and exit of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises; refers any irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences to supervisor
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Monitors entrance and exit of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
Warns persons of rule infractions or violations
Answers alarms and investigates disturbances
Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property
Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas
Answers telephone to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed
Refers any irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences to supervisor
Performs other duties as required
Education & Experience Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Zero to two years of job related experience
- Possession of a valid state drivers license and a good driving record and the ability to Maintain insurability with company insurance carrier
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Knowledge & Skills
Good oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers, exchange information and understand and transmit instructions
Demonstrated knowledge of public security practices and procedures, and other applicable safety laws and regulations
Successful completion of an annual physical fitness exam
Successful completion of CPR/First Aid & AED certification every two years
Successfully pass Federal Aviation Administration background check and possess AOA aviation badge
Successful completion of annual taser training including Use of Force Training and taser familiarization training
