Performs accounting services for derivatives, alternatives, and other complex assets including maintaining records, inputting correct trade activity, valuation activity, cash activity, and reconciling general ledger entries


Ability to work independently to identify and resolve accounting and/or transaction discrepancies and provide detailed explanations for variances for investments and derivatives


Assists with the training and development of other team members


Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with business partners, including

Accounting Policy, Tax, Financial Reporting, Global Investments, and internal and external auditors


Prepares the necessary monthly accounting entries to the general ledger for US GAAP and statutory to ensure accuracy of income statements and balance sheets


Reconciles general ledger activity to asset source documents


Works closely with business partners to resolve discrepancies or issues regarding trades and

settlements activity of derivative and other complex assets


Enhances operating procedures and policies, and performs data entry of derivative transactions


Assists in the preparation and review of reporting and analytic needs for derivatives and other complex assets for all accounting bases, including USGAAP, STAT, and USTAX and application of hedge accounting (if applicable)


Performs other duties as required


Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance or a related field, and five years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Four years of corporate-level accounting experience in an organization of

comparable size required

Experience in statutory accounting, investment accounting, derivative

accounting, treasury accounting, or other comparable demonstrated ability and

knowledge of investment activities preferred

Job Knowledge & Skills

Intermediate to advanced proficiency level using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access software applications with VBA/macro experience preferred


Knowledge and experience with SAP, Treasury systems and/or Crystal Reports or similar

accounting/financial software


Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and financial systems user applications (SAP preferred), including input/output processing and complex system concepts, and ability to understand and use computer systems and application tools for analysis


Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience performing financial analysis, reporting, and/or process improvement
