    Description

    Performs, under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, a variety of routine and advanced technical duties related to preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining medication and supply inventory, processing for expired medications, and process invoices and billing information, variety of computer functions in accordance with standard procedures. Retrieve and interpret medication orders; performs pharmaceutical calculations; enters medication orders into pharmacy computer system for pharmacist’s review. Label, fill, and deliver medication to appropriate patient care locations. Accurately and aseptically prepares IV admixtures. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Must be at least 19 years of age and never been convicted of any drug related felony or misdemeanor. Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician and meet Nebraska Registration requirements and appropriate NE approved Pharmacy Technician Certification or obtain within 1 year of employment. Current Basic Life Support certification preferred. One year of experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including Microsoft office, Excel, Word.
