Performs exam according to department procedures (including labeling of images, patient and exam preparation, obtaining history and explaining exam to patient). Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological diagnostic information and images. Uses independent judgment during exam to differentiate between normal and pathological findings. Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or board eligible. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. One year of experience in a high volume ULTRASOUND department is preferred.
