Job Description

Performs patient registrations and verifies current patient/guarantor demographic and insurance information.  Notifies nursing and/or medical staff of emergent medical needs as directed.  Obtains appropriate signatures on forms from patient, guarantor or family and distributes  corresponding paperwork to appropriate departments.  Answers multi line telephone.  Responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments and for pulling medical records for upcoming appointments and messages. Obtains copies of Medicare, Medicaid or  insurance cards at each registration.  Obtains signatures on consent to treat forms and HIPAA Forms as appropriate.   Collects all co-pays, receipts in payments and writes receipt for patients or documents transaction according to policy and procedures.  High School diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years hospital and/or health clinic reception experience preferred.  Medical terminology preferred.
