Job Description

Accountable for daily operations of the Med/Surg, Obstetrics, Emergency and Operating Room departments. Organizes, directs, and coordinates the nursing staff to assure that effective nursing services are provided and quality standards are met.  Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for assigned patient population, as well as maintains accurate records of the department’s daily operations.  Resolves immediate problems and reports all issues to appropriate Lead. Provide RN clinical support.  Interact and serve as a clinical resource to hospital staff.  Assists staff in performing complex clinical procedures.  Graduate from accredited school of Nursing.  BSN degree strongly preferred.  Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or Iowa.  Depending on the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional certifications or training in one or more specialty areas. Current BLS and ACLS required.  PALS and NRP within 90 days of hire. TNCC within 18 months of hire.  A minimum of three years acute nursing experience, with one or more years of supervisory experience preferred.  Prefer Labor and Delivery experience.
