Job Description

The Open Door Mission is a gospel rescue mission providing basic needs and life-changing programs for the homeless and needy.

In this position you will insure that the Gospel is shared with all men, responsible to oversee programs and their overall management within men’s ministries, and implement the objective to equip them with the tools to be self-sufficient and independent, and implement development strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Case Management Services for program members and develop their short and long term goals. Conduct assessments including gathering information and formulating assessment of the families current needs, life situation and resources. Develop an Individual Program Plan for each program member based on needs.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, files, notes, regarding program member’s progress. Refer and network with program members to outside agencies as necessary to ensure client services. Insure each program member receives 45 minutes of case management. Provide accountability that program members are attending all scheduled classes, appointments, 12 Step Meetings and follow their Individual Program Plan.
  • Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem solving, de-escalation strategies to staff and program members. Represent the ODM through community functions, to volunteers and through tours of the ODM. Greet guest/volunteers and facilitate their time at RBLC/ODM as necessary.
  • Develop policies and procedures for operation of the department.
  • Keep developing techniques, skills and intervention that is effective in changing the thinking process of the homeless, chemical dependent, and mentally ill.
  • Administer drug/alcohol tests. Oversee documentation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education/Training: Education/training in Biblical studies, at least a 2-year associate degree, B.S. or associate in human services or social work or master’s degree in counseling or related filed.

Experience/Background/Knowledge: Knowledge of case management, with emphasis on strength based or goal oriented plans of action. Knowledge of IPP (individual program plans).
