Salaryand BenefitsThis position is in Salary Grade 617 with a minimum starting salary of $49,395. The successful candidateâÂ?Â?s starting wage will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range. This position is eligible for Northeast Community Collegeâ??s excellent full-time fringe benefits package. Coaching rodeo is 60% of the position. Other areas of responsibility will be determined based upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, student support, teaching/instruction, or facilities management.

GeneralDescriptionThe purpose of this position is to operate the rodeo program for male and female student-athletes. The head rodeo coach mentors and trains student-athletes, and focuses on their academic and personal success. This is accomplished by planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring all aspects of the Northeast Community College rodeo program. This includes recruiting, supervising and monitoring student-athletes conduct and academic eligibility, supervising conditioning and training of the student-athletes, planning team travel, following and enforcing National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) rules and regulations, providing quality coaching and instruction to student-athletes during practice and competition, ensuring safety regulations and procedures are followed, and overseeing the rodeo budget. Other duties include attending Booster events, fundraising for the Northeast Athletic Department and rodeo program, monitoring study halls, and hosting rodeo skills camps.
QualificationsEducationAssociateâ??s Degree required; Bachelorâ??s Degree preferred.
QualificationExperienceRequires a minimum of one year rodeo coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level and knowledge of National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) rules and policies governing college rodeo athletes and staff. In addition, experience in recruiting student-athletes, fundraising, and public relations is preferred.
QualificationSkillsThis position requires the ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks to completion. Must have the ability to promote a positive atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation both with student-athletes and co-workers. Must possess a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills.
