Sr Payroll Tax Accountant

Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. Omaha, NE


Responsible for reviewing employment tax data, working with Federal, State & City agencies to respond and resolve notices, and teaming with Third Party payroll service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Provide input on Federal and State employment tax matters and assist with special projects and unique assignments to ensure that deadlines are met.



  • Working with Federal & State agencies to update POA forms, and company information
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, & Local tax laws
  • Review, respond and resolve agency notices
  • Filling reconciliation/wage reports as necessary
  • Assist with tax compliance testing and reporting
  • Assist with the enhancement/update of existing systems/procedures
  • Assist with local tax address review and tax set up in PeopleSoft s HRLink HRIS
  • Communicate with outside tax auditors and respond to data requests
  • Running queries in PeopleSoft s HRLink HRIS
  • Regular and reliable attendance required



  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting MBA/CPA is a plus
  • 2-3 years accounting experience with a multi-state employment tax background BIG 4 experience is a plus
  • 2 years experience dealing with Federal and State employment taxes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint Power BI is a plus
  • Ability to interface well with other internal departments
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment
