Job Description

Changing the World, One Patient at a Time

If you want to truly make a difference in the lives of your patients, we’d love you to consider joining our team.

OneWorld Community Health Centers is a growing Omaha, Nebraska-based organization that employs 460 people while still retaining a true family feel. Our Leadership team maintains an open door, regularly hosts employee events and continually encourages employee development.

In short, we love our employees, and they love working for us.

OneWorld Operates four School Based Health Centers (SBHC) in the South Omaha area.  These health centers are located inside of Opmaha Public Schools (OPS) schools.  We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant (Family Practice or Pediatrics) to help us achieve our goal of providing excellent healthcare to underserved children in our community.

As a SBHC provider, you will partner with school administrators, teachers, and school nurses to provide high quality, family-centered care to children in a cross-cultural setting.  You will have the opportunity to work independently in a small, intimate setting were you'll really get to know your patients, but you'll have the resources of a large FQHC.  It's the best of both worlds!  Our EHR system has in-house technical support with provider-driven enhancements.  Our providers have light phone call duty with nurse screening and triage that rotates through a team of 20+, with MD support.

If you like building relationships, advocating for children, and summers off, please apply!

  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies required.  (Family Practice or Pediatrics.)
  • License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Nebraska required.  (Or license eligible.)
  •  BLS certification required.
  • 2+ years of experience required.  New grads need not apply.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.  (Our providers must be able to communicate with patients in Spanish, at an intermediate level at least, without the use of an interpreter.)

Our medical providers are eligible for student loan repayment:  OneWorld is a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and NURSE Corps site with a HPSA score of 20 for primary care.

OneWorld Community Health Centers provides a competitive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental and Life Insurance; Tuition Reimbursement; 401(k); onsite daycare; free fitness center and more. If you want to apply your unique skillset to a diverse, caring, growing Nonprofit that serves 37,000+ patients, please apply.

You can make a difference – in your life and the lives of others.
