OneWorld operates the Learning Community Center of South Omaha.  The LCC offers a parent and child education program to families in eleven high-poverty elementary schools in South Omaha.  We teach the parents essential skills to help their children succeed in elementary school. Our center and its satellite locations allow us to assist over 250 families in the community. Classes include parenting workshops, English courses, and computer training. Child care is provided on-site during the hours that the parents are in class.  The Learning Community Center is nationally recognized; we earned a White House honor as a Bright Spot in Hispanic Education. 

We are looking for an Instructional Manager to join the team at the Learning Community Center.  The Instructional Manager teaches ESL to adult learners, assesses student levels of language and literacy, and engages the Family Literacy Model.  They also oversee the teaching team; they collaborate with the ESL Instructors to improve instructional quality and align the curriculum across all levels.  The Instructional Manager works directly with Omaha Public Schools to find ways to engage parent participants in their children’s education.  They also work with higher education institutions, such as Metro Community College, to help set realistic goals for parent participants in regards to their own education and career advandement.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.  (Preferably in Education, ESL, English, or related field.)
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification to teach English as a Second Language (ESL Endorsement, TESOL, TEFL, etc.) required.
  • Teaching experience, preferably in the public school system, required.
  • State of Nebraska teaching certificate preferred.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.
  • Prior experience with computers/technology related to facilitating instruction required.
  • Outstanding personal/interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities for accomplishing assigned work, implement action plans and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to accommodate the learning needs of non-traditional, diverse student populations.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional weekends.
