POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON), the Clinic Manager will be a foundational member of a high-performance leadership team responsible for the operations, partnerships and patient access of Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. The Clinic Manager will assist in coordinating the provision of care through assigning and scheduling staff, as well as prioritizing, delegating and evaluating patient care.

POSITION COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and management to clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with Chief Medical Officer, Director of Nursing, and service line leadership (Behavioral Health, Dental, and Pharmacy) to coordinate continuous and optimal patient care.
  • Assist in evaluating patient care provided by the clinical support staff.
  • Acts as a clinical resource person and assists DON & Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development.
  • Assist in Process Improvement activities.
  • Collaborates with DON & ADON in prospective monitoring of the schedule to assure adequate staffing at all CDHC locations.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • Liaison between Charles Drew, and external partners collaborating with the Metropolitan Place Health Center.
  • Supervise and coordinate various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, corrective action, promotions and vacation schedules.
  • Participates in development of policies, procedures and standards for the medical clinics.
  • Lead administrative problem solving, program planning, development and execution of CDHC goals.
  • Coordinate with DON and/or other appropriate CDHC staff to procure office supplies, medical supplies, and other operations furniture and technologies.
  • Attend designated events and meetings, as necessary, including evenings and weekends.
  • Coordinate health information report development with CDHC Health Information Manager and vendor partners (e.g., Heartland Network, NextGen, etc.)
  • Participate in the monitoring and management of the program budget with constant attention to gap between collections and expenses.
  • Evaluate and monitor clinic flow to ensure that patients are scheduled appropriately and other processes to maximize efficiencies.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement processes, Joint Commission compliance meetings, All Staff meetings, corporate leadership meetings and other meetings as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Masters preferred. Previous experience in an Ambulatory Health Care Management position desired.

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • High level of knowledge of scope of practice for the RN, LPN and MA.
  • Demonstrated mastery of critical thinking, analytics, and problem solving skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at various levels both inside and outside of the organization, often in sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with an Electronic Practice Management (EPM) and/ or Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Proficiency with meeting facilitation and project management Language: English fluency (Spanish, Burmese, Mai Mai and Sudanese language fluency a plus)
  • Hours of Work: Expect to work 40+ hours a week.
  • Travel: Some travel required.
  • Exposure: The exposure characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. For example, while performing the essential functions of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Additionally, the employee may occasionally be exposed to Bloodborne and other hazardous chemicals. Finally, the noise level in the work environment is rarely loud. In all cases personal protective equipment will be provided to the employee in combination with adequate ventilation and other engineering controls to minimize the risk of exposure or other hazardous occurrence.
