SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The ideal outreach specialist will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. They will need to be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and willing to form community connections. The outreach coordinator will also present and provide outreach, awareness, and education to all groups and demographics in the community regarding problem gambling.  All training and supervision are provided by agency. 

Compensation starting at $19.74 per hour (based upon experience)
Work Schedule: 20 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • *Distribute flyers, letters, brochures, and hand-written materials
  • *Participates in developing and participating in outreach efforts for Gambling Program
  • *Presents informational materials to therapeutic groups
  • *Coordinates with community organizations, faith communities, health centers, professional groups and others to increase awareness and engagement in recovery
  • Serves as a resource to members of the community by providing information and materials to create referrals for problem gambling treatment.
  • Maintains detailed records related to outreach activities.
  • Attends meetings and trainings related to problem gambling.
  • Present progress of problem gambling outreach and report data on effectiveness of outreach.
  • *Create, maintain and share as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • * Strive to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • * Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site or designated workspace.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of problem gambling, warning signs, and its impact on the community preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license/ acceptable driving record
