Performs basic functions of a routine nature. Variety of functions and activities are specific. Entry level position. It is preferred that this person is a person who is in recovery from serious mental illness and/or substance use. Positive interpersonal skills are critical for this position.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


  • *Assists with intake procedures for both the Peer Center and the CCBHC and consults with peer support specialists prior to completing intake into the program.
  • *Perform reception duties, accurately take messages and give appropriate directions to clients and general public; assist all visitors, clients, and staff in processing their inquiries.
  • *Responds to clients’ needs during open hours at the Peer Center.
  • *Orients clients to the Peer Center rules and addresses client non-compliance as necessary to create a safe and secure environment for other clients.
  • *Develops/maintains a welcoming, trauma informed atmosphere.
  • *Able to engage clients in their own recovery journey.
  • Supports independent living skill development.
  • Provides concerns to program staff regarding client activities and needs on a daily basis.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
  • *Creates, maintains and shares an appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • *Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous human service experience desirable, but not required
  • In recovery from serious mental illness and/or substance use is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license/ acceptable driving record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products/Programs and basic office equipment

Client Focus – Understanding and meeting or exceeding client needs through responsive client service and contributing to positive outcomes for the client, meeting long term client needs. 

Innovation Using original and creative thinking to make improvements and/or develop and initiate new approaches for own job/area as well as the organization and does things new to the organization.

Relationship Building – Developing and maintaining win/win relationships and partnerships through establishing formal working relationships. 

Service Facilitation – Creates networks to ensure required services are delivered effectively, providing information as required.

Organizational Awareness & Commitment – Understands the structure and culture of the organization and supports the organization’s values, principles and goals; demonstrating an understanding of the organization beyond own work-group and can anticipate and meet organizational needs.
