SUMMARY DESCRIPTION  OF  WORK

Provide training and activities regarding Bystander Intervention and program services as it relates to domestic, dating, and sexual violence. This position is dedicated to reaching out to area schools, community agencies, and marketing of the program. Decision-making skills and problem solving capabilities are critical in outreach and advocacy related job duties.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including one evening until 7:00 p.m. (Tuesday or Wednesday)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • *Provides educational presentations to the community, education institutions, and various state, local and community agencies regarding DV, SA, and program services available, through written and oral correspondence.
  • *Develops evidenced based program curriculum for prevention education purposes.
  • *Coordinates prevention/bystander activities in the community to provide awareness and education.
  • Provides outreach and advocacy to DV and SA survivors.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of crisis intervention skills while working with clients in crisis.
  • Available for emergency situations during work hours.
  • Maintains records of attendance, administers pre and post test, evaluations and surveys.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and community agencies and schools.
  • Maintains regular, prompt attendance at the office on a consistent and reliable basis.
  • *Ability to identify and track data on presentations and prevention measures and assist with grant related reporting.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • *Creates, maintains and shares an appropriate dynamic self-care plan.
  • *Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • *Essential functions of this job is to be performed on company physical work site.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers and visitors of the Agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma and six years experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years experience
  • Possess strong communication/interpersonal skills.
