SUMMARY DESCRIPTION  OF  WORK

This specialist provides support functions for the Generations Center program of Heartland Family Service. This position transports clients to and from the Center daily, assists to plan and coordinate daily activities, functions support the achievement of program goals and outcome success, and provides coverage in the absence of the program director. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • *Transport seniors to and from the Generations Center daily.
  • *Assess needs, plan activities, and provide services to the Generations Center clients.
  • *Comply with all contractual regulations associated with the program.
  • *Ensure a safe and socially motivating environment.
  • *Provide program coverage in the absence of the program director.
  • *Provide transportation via established routes in a safe and professional manner.
  • *Coordinate routine maintenance, oil changes, tune-ups, and safety equipment repairs as necessary.
  • *Regularly fuel vehicle, wash van and clean interior as needed.
  • *Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  • *Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training   opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
  • *Creates, maintains and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • * Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency's ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years experience in human services or related field
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
