Are you a Skilled Welder, but not getting compensation for your hard work and talent in the Omaha area?  This Assembly Welder position will get you in the door with a company who hires and promotes within for Lead or Supervisor roles and even has a tuition reimbursement program for continued education.  This Assembly Welder position offers competitive compensation to get quality folks through their door.  As a Assembly Welder, you will be welding steel parts for. steel assemblies, including stairs, rails, trash gates There are both day and night shift opportunities available.
Assembly Welder Responsibilities:
- Identify steel shapes, sizes and mill tolerances
- Weld together structural, plate or miscellaneous steel fabrication according to the weld symbols, weld procedures, dimensions shown on the shop drawings and specific code requirements
- Preheat and/or cut work pieces using a hand torch when required
- Fabricate sub-pieces of the overall assembly as trained and instructed
- Identify shop drawing errors and discrepancies before or during early stages of fabrication
- Operate fork-lifts, jib cranes, overhead cranes, conveyors and transfers in order to move materials
- Any other duties assigned by management
- Consistently and reliably works scheduled hours at assigned locations
Assembly Welder Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and perform simple arithmetic computations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and addition and subtraction of decimal and fractional numbers.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
-Ability to pass weld test
- Ability to understand and carry out simple verbal and written instructions
- Ability to make routine decisions based on established practices and procedures
- Ability to work under close supervision
- Will become fork-lift certified
- Operate overhead cranes in a safe and proper manner.
- Knowledgeable of steel shapes, sizes and grades
