Equipment Technician Specialist

A company that has been in business since 1982 working with international distributors to bring farmers, businesses and resellers together has an opening for a a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Equipment Technical Specialist to join our team. In this position, you will help develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of livestock equipment portfolio, to provide technical support for installation, operation, trouble-shooting and repairs for customers .
 
Equipment Technical Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and input as needed to equipment installation sub-contractors to insure proper installation and operation
  • Ensure site owners understand the proper operation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Analyze root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions
  • Provide 24×7 support to troubleshoot the equipment problems
  • Perform inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs and replacements
  • Read and understand technical manuals for equipment operations and maintenances
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations
  • Provide assistance and job trainings to workers when needed
  • Maintain documentation of equipment maintenance and repair procedures for future reference procedures
  • Maintain inventory control of equipment tools and parts
  • Propose improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability
  • Develop cost reduction initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources

 
Equipment Technical Specialist Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in the electrical and equipment industry, livestock equipment preferred
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Able to manage multiple projects
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solution
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project and experience with Project Management software preferred
  • Able to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers
