Quality Engineer Leader

Job Description

The largest U.S. based independent manufacturer of composites such as wind blades; is looking for a Quality Engineer Leader! They lead the industry in wind - turbine manufacturers that outsource their needs through a global footprint of advanced manufacturing.  The available Quality Engineer Leader position is responsible for inspecting raw materials that are either in process or finished. They oversee the developmental standards and protocols for policies, procedures and plans.
Quality Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as management representative for ISO and GL certification
  • Supervise team and act as the main contact for quality related issues
    • (Internal audits, customer feedback, monitor and measure) 
  • CAPA and non-conforming management
  • Quality lab testing and test procedures
  • Train team members on quality related procedures and work instructions
  • Provide input for yearly budgets for quality
  • Facilitate continual improvement for projects
  • Coordinate meetings with other departments promoting teamwork and continuous improvement 
Quality Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering field such as mechanical or manufacturing
  • Must have 6 years of related experience
  • Prefer to have at least 2 years of supervisor experience
  • Experience with kaizen and lean managing operations
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of calibration systems
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple products
  • Must be detail orientated 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain safe work environment
