A leading Omaha engineering consulting firm is looking for a Mechanical Designer, for industrial projects primarily in the food and alternative fuels production industries
 
Your Day as a Mechanical Designer:
  • Prepare and provide first-rate industrial CAD drafting diagrams for the core team
  • Confer with engineers and experts to interpret design concepts, and determine nature/ type of required detailed work drawings 
  • Develop detailed designs and specifications for construction builds in accordance to engineer sketches and design proposals
  • Develop general arrangement of piping and HVAC layouts and drawing schematics
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, idea, and other related design data 
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce and/or eliminate project problems and interference
  • Review and delegate project workflow to project team ensuring all timelines and goals are achieved
  • Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, contractors and vendors
 
Mechanical Designer Knowledge & Skills You Should Have:
  • A.S. Degree in Drafting or related field
  • 5 years of mechanical industrial drafting field experience required
  • 5 years of equipment and site layouts experience
  • 5 years of experience with P&IDs, process piping layouts, piping ISOS and HVAC
  • Proven experience with electrical one-lines, schematics, power plans, lighting layouts & panel drawings
  • Must possess advanced engineering skills 
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and design
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Software (Release 2013) 
  • Familiarity with codes and standards (OSHA, IBC, IPC, NFPA)
  • Ability to set priorities, and organize work to meet project deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with clients & in-house staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
