Summary of Position;

This manager plays an integral role in supporting the mission of the organization by being an active participant in the overall development of ONI associates. The manager consults with the Human Resources Department regarding the selection of staff development programs; establishes learning objectives and goals; mentors; coaches; and assesses the impact. The manager in this position is also responsible to maintain professional and personal development of one’s self by attending educational workshops; participating in leadership training, reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks in and outside of the company.

The Associate Resource Advisor provides quality care to the needs of the company’s associates by implementing specific procedures and programs; reports pertinent information to the immediate direct reports; and assists the immediate direct reports with tasks to support department operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned).

  • Provides quality care to Outlook associates in an environment that promote their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with associates, Outlook team members, family members, guardians, case workers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provides assistance and guidance with identifying choices and making informed decisions that involve associate's personal and professional activities in life.
  • Assists associates in recreational and community activities in order to promote socialization and establish relationships with peers. 
  • Provides assistance with developing effective and appropriate communication and social skills.
  • Oversees the program within organizational guidelines, policies, professional and ethical standards.
  • Maintains organization confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with HIPPA/company policies.
  • Establishes goals of an Individualized Care Plan providing functional support to acquire, retain and improve independence.
  • Provides training in result-oriented coaching methodologies, strategies, and techniques developing skills of leaders to address challenging personnel situations.

  • Bachelor’s in Science Degree  or related field
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of social and independent living skills, accessibility to community resources and experience with appropriate training skills, along with assessment and evaluation techniques. 
  • 5 years of direct support experience preferred
