Job Summary/Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership and operational oversight of more than 100 staff providing social services through more than twenty different programs ranging from 24/7 secured Mental Health Respite units to serving food and other basic needs across multiple locations throughout the Omaha Metro area. Serve as liaison to the Council on Accreditation (COA) and maintain accreditation. Collaborate with Omaha Metro leadership in program evaluation, community need, and strategies to elevate TSA social services to a higher level of impact and demonstrably effective service.

 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, manage, and support social service staff to assure safe, effective program operations with desired measurable outcomes and within budget.
  2. Serve as the agency liaison to the Council on Accreditation (COA), responsible for maintaining accreditation and coordinating site reviews.
  3. Ensure that best practices outlined in COA and from other thought partners are embedded and sustained into TSA's every day through effective processes, management, training, knowledge transfer and monitoring.
  4. Liaison with TSA's Divisional Social Services department to ensure understanding and adherence to required TSA training, policies and procedures.
  5. In collaboration with the Omaha Metro team, work with the Divisional Development department to assist securing funding sources.
  6. Within a continuum of different types and acuity levels of social services provided, identify and implement program and staff development and specialized service-specific training needs.
  7. Oversight of the development and modification of goals, outcomes, policies, and procedures for social service programs including TSA performance quality indicators (PQI).
  8. Support staff and social service programs in the submission of required data and reports, as required by TSA and community/government stakeholders.
  9. Actively champion and collaborate with the Omaha Metro team to elevate our sophistication in data collection and interpretation to help drive operational decisions, strategic planning, and telling our story as to who we are and what we do with meaningful measurable outcomes.
  10. In tandem with the Executive Director, act as representative for TSA with community partners and funders in planning and coordinating efforts to serve the Omaha Metro effectively.
  11. Promote TSA social service programs and events through community speaking engagements or the use of media in conjunction with Divisional Communication and Divisional Social Service departments.
  12. Ensure safety of staff and clients, including the review and tracking of all incident reports, convene œCritical Incident Review Committee and follow up as needed.
  13. Active participation in community social service functions and conferences.
  14. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Department and Program Directors and social service staff.


Education and/or Experience:

Master level degree in Social Work or related field.

7 years of experience in social work or related field with some portion of that time including fiscal responsibilities.

Minimum 5 years management and people leadership experience.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

LMHP, LCSW or LMSW or related. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

  8. Ability to handle confidential matters.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid drivers license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
