Every day, Clover devices handle the core card and point-of-sale processing for hundreds of thousands of merchants. Behind the scenes, we operate a cloud platform that provides processing, storage and collaboration for merchants, application developers, service providers and our merchants' customers. Our devices and platform form the backbone of millions of payment interactions between merchants and their customers daily.


The Role\:


Clover is looking for a prolific, passionate content marketer who can connect with a small business audience. This content marketer understands how small business decision makers seek and consume content. This person would have deep empathy for small businesses, which is reflected in the content they publish.

Successful candidates for this role will bring an editor-in-chief mindset, adept at managing a team of contract writers, and may have a Rolodex of writers that they bring with them. They will have managed a content calendar in the past. They will also be KPI-driven, with a track record of using content to drive results across all stages of the marketing funnel, from awareness, acquisition, to customer growth. They will also have demonstrated an ability to drive reach and scale in terms of amplifying readership and engagement.


Key Responsibilities\:

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that engages small business decision makers across the marketing funnel
  • Maintain a content calendar that aligns with marketing campaigns, new product launches, etc. working closely with product marketing, events, and demand generation teams
  • Scale the Clover blog, webinars, and e-books as the primary sources of content, while starting up other content formats as needed
  • Manage third-party content development agencies to help drive velocity of content production
  • Tap into internal subject matter experts, partners, and merchants to develop relevant content
  • Work closely with product marketing to monitor the blogs and content from competitors and partners to keep tabs on industry trends and other market developments
  • Work closely with external comms/public relations to ensure messaging and timing alignment

Requirements\:

  • 10 years of related marketing experience
  • Deep experience marketing to small-business decision makers
  • Relevant cross-functional experience working across product, sales, marketing to drive results
  • Experience managing to KPIs that tie back to different stages of the marketing funnel
  • Demonstrated skill in managing virtual teams of content writers to drive high-quality, high-throughput content streams
  • Experience with drawing from a wide range of subject matter experts (e.g. internal resources, partners, merchants) to build relevant content and provide a diverse range of voices for content

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • Domain experience in key point-of-sale verticals (e.g. restaurants, retail, services), either as a small business owner or as a vendor selling into those verticals
