Position Description Overview

This position is responsible for global network monitoring and alert resolution as well providing level 2 network troubleshooting and support for both internal and external clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring Provides real time network infrastructure monitoring and alert handling and resolution. 
  • Troubleshooting Provides real time level 1 and some level 2 troubleshooting across a wide array of networking technologies and platforms.  
  • Change Management Supports a rigorous change control process including creating and implementing change records for network related activities.  
  • Quality Assurance Supports a rigorous quality assurance program in relation to network infrastructure and network documentation and diagrams. 
  • Vendor Management Drives and escalates issues with multiple network carriers/vendors related to incident management and resolution.

Job Requirements

  • Technically Savvy Must possess working networking technical knowledge and experience around the following supported hardware but not limited to Cisco, Juniper and HP routers and switches and Checkpoint firewalls.  
  • Must possess a technical understanding of a wide array of network functions including Cisco WAN/LAN, EIGRP, BGP and OSPF, Cisco NAT, ISDN and QOS.
  • Multi-Tasker Must be able to think outside the box and multi-task 
  • Self-Driven Must be self-motivated and able to drive issues to resolution in a fast moving and ever changing environment  
  • Problem Solver Ability to identify and isolate problems using various Network analysis tools such as data sniffers, eHealth and HPNA Team Player Must be able to work effectively in a team environment Cisco CCNA preferred
