Position: Senior Recruiter

Location: Hagerstown MD

Job Responsibilities

 

The Military/Campus Senior Recruiter is responsible for sourcing and recruiting military-affiliated individuals and recent graduates into First Data's summer internship, early career development programs, and full time job opportunities, via military organizations, various universities, and community colleges. This role requires a highly energetic person who loves to build relationships and is as excited to hire recent grads, veterans, guard/reservist & military spouses as they start / transition into a new career.  If you love the thrill of finding great talent through various sourcing channels, travelling, and meeting new people, then read on!   

 

 

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with military instillations, veteran organizations, universities and community colleges; presenting First Data as an œemployer of choice.
  • Attends various events such as: career fairs, employers panels, resume reviews/mock interviews
  • Sources veterans, guard/reservists, and military spouses for job opportunities through multiple sourcing channels.
  • Supports assigned line of business through sourcing of military-affiliated, university, and community college talent to achieve hiring goals.
  • Achieves sourcing and hiring goals in a metrics driven environment.
  • Evaluates talent/candidates for assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Sources, screens and interviews for candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes.
  • Presents candidates and guides/assists hiring managers in the staffing process. 
  • Coordinates pre-employment travel, offer process, and new hire experience requirements. 
  • Utilizes staffing technology applications to drive staffing workflow, measure performance and report results.
  • Provides back up assistance to the Military Recruiting team as needed
  • Performs duties under limited supervision, applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures

 

 

Scope of Job

Complex recruiting issues/activities. Broad training knowledge providing guidance to less experienced recruiting staff. Performs duties under minimum supervision, applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures. Interprets the employment strategy and aligns resources and people to meet strategy goals.

 

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors in Human Resource Management or related field
  • 3+ years sourcing or recruiting experience, full cycle recruitment a plus
  • U.S. Veteran, Guard and Reservists, military spouses encouraged to apply
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations, including those relating to OFCCP
  • Knowledge of military culture including skills translation, rank structure and veteran to civilian transition
  • Sourcing expert utilizing multiple approaches:  multiple social media sites, search strings, networking
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (Taleo preferred), MS Office products, and SharePoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision-making  and critical thinking skills
  • Must be a team player with proven success working in a team environment
  • Travel required 25% or more
