Incident Manager Description Overview

 

This position is to support the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) and has direct contact with the Federal Government including Fiscal Service, IRS, and the Treasury. This position is to back-up the Director of Incident Management for the program. This includes concise written and verbal communications, Supporting Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR). Client communications are critical to this position and requires the ability to work independently. This position works in a program wide Incident Manager capacity where written communications are sent directly to the client (partnering bank and the Federal Government).

 

 The hours of work must be onsite and would entail working 12.5 hour shifts from 8:00a - 8:30 PM Wednesday - Saturday, one week; then alternating with the following week  from 8:00a - 8:30p Thursday - Saturday. Occasional on-call support will be required. Being EFTPS, this person must be able to pass a C2 Security clearance.


Job Responsibilities

  • The primary purpose of the Incident Manager role is to ensure that impacting incidents are managed effectively and professionally, resulting in the restoration of normal service quickly, efficiently and with minimal impact to customer service.
  • The Incident Manager is expected to work with their immediate teams and stakeholders to successfully manage major incidents and ultimately drive down the number and frequency of incidents and improve service recovery times. Leads bridge calls for incidents flagged for impact.
  • Also directly responsible for the Business Continuity Plan and Crisis Management within the program.

Job Requirements

  • 6+ years of related technical and business experience. 
  • Experience managing multi-platform and client-impacting issues.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or applicable certifications. 
  • Requires strong knowledge of industry supported. 
  • Translates the IT strategy into action. 
  • Require expert knowledge of business operations, policies and practices.

Job Preferences

  • Professional certification such as a Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or an Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP).
  • Previous experience in Crisis Management as part of Business Continuity Planning.
