Position Description Overview

The Global Digital Content Manager is a member of First Data's Digital Marketing team, supporting the global marketing organization with the strategy of digital content, engagement and conversions for the First Data and Clover brands, as well as our other brands, which include Star Debit Network, Money Network, Sam's Club Merchant Services, and various co-branded programs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner, reporting to the Director, Global Content Strategy. The Global Digital Content Manager role is responsible for helping develop, articulate, communicate, and implement the standards that ensure we provide an excellent customer experience as well as ensuring we meet our standards across our e-commerce and marketing platforms. The position is accountable for analyzing our current content, identifying gaps, making recommendations to bridge those gaps, and drive the implementation process. The ideal candidate will manage content and updates to international web properties, including the corporate Internet site, which serves as a primary lead generation and communications tool for First Data and its business units.


Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage refresh of content on key digital properties working with our global marketing partners, ensuring it meets our corporate objectives and improves the customer experience.
  • Prepare and edit creative briefs and business requirements for small and large digital program and product launches.
  • Collaborate with design and writing teams to produce high quality content.
  • Review global marketing project requests submitted to the digital team to ensure the request is complete and justified.
  • Manage our pipeline of work requests across all regions and help set priorities for our development team weekly.
  • Manage web developers, tag manager and analytics colleagues at a project basis to ensure expected outcomes.
  • Support development of our editorial calendar, delegate tasks and ensure deadlines are met
  • Deliver engaging content on a regular basis and inspire team members
  • Edit, proofread and improve content
  • Optimize content considering SEO and Google Analytics
  • Analyze web traffic metrics and provide narrative insights to senior management.
  • Share content through various channels, ensuring strong web presence
  • Set up tools and content plan for obtaining customer feedback and generate ideas to increase customer engagement based on user feedback.
  • Create brand guidelines for agencies, and best practices guidelines for Marketing and Communications colleagues.


Scope of Job

The position develops budgets and is responsible for metrics to measure the success of his/her area of responsibility. This position will be expected to stay on budget with all deliverables and meet established deadlines.


Autonomy

The candidate will also consult in placing new product and business content that fits within the site strategy and information architecture. You must be a knowledgeable practitioner of Web site usability best practices, html, and graphic creation and have an international perspective. The candidate does not have to be a true IT manager, however strong technical skills, html and a thorough understanding of web site development life cycle and best practices are required. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of digital content publishing.


 

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years' professional experience with digital production and project management.
  • 3+ years' of professional work experience as a Content Marketing Manager, preferably with an ecommerce, online retail or media company.
  • 3 years' professional experience using a Content Management System (CMS), preferably Adobe Experience Manager.
  • 3+ years' experience coding HTML.
  • Knowledge of web site usability testing
  • Strong understanding of web publishing requirements and workflow.
  • Editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferences
  • Hands on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Expertise in social media platforms
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • Prior experience with multi-lingual sites.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office and project management tools.
  • Prior professional digital acquisition/lead generation experience.
  • Prior Salesforce.com campaign management experience a plus.
  • Copy editing experience a plus
  • BA or BS degree in Marketing, Journalism or relevant field
  • Impressive work ethic and strong collaboration required.
