Position Overview


First Data Government Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager with an extensive background in Child Support Enforcement system modernization, to include programmatic expertise. Experience should include oversight/project management of QA / IV&V, PMO, Strategic Planning, Procurement, and Business Transformation projects.


Job Responsibilities


Job responsibilities include consulting, account management, project management, client satisfaction, people management, strategic planning, and new business development. This position is classified as Work From Home since the work will not be performed within First Data offices, but instead at the client work-site in the state of Connecticut offices.

  • Apply project management (PMBOK) methodologies, processes, and templates consistently
  • Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs, develop the client relationship, and maintain First Data's œtrusted advisor status
  • Must be able to grow the business just as successfully as delivering on an engagement. The individual must be comfortable operating in the œgray space where scope, deliverables, responsibilities, and expectations are not always defined
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to adapt in the client environment to achieve desired results
  • Track all deliverables and monitor budget versus actual expenses, vendor and contract management activities. Mentor team members on areas of expertise. Identify opportunities to improve the processes and quality of work products. Project Planning. Oversight on: Requirements Validation, System Design Verification, Construction and Testing, Data Conversion Verification, Integration and System Testing, Quality Assurance and UAT, Federal Review Support
  • Responsible for completing tasks related to deliverables. These could include, but are not limited to, maintaining project work plans and schedule; conducting research, organizing and presenting findings, leading work sessions with clients and project team, and developing documentation using structured methodologies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree (preference for IT information management or public policy related degrees)
  • At least 8 years consulting or client engagement experience in several of the following areas: project management, change management, strategic planning, business process improvement, governance, business intelligence, performance management, quality assurance, call center operations, and SDU operations
  • Five or more years of experience as Project Manager
  • Must be able to plan and facilitate presentations and client meetings, and guide the First Data and client Teams in developing required deliverables and work products
  • Strategic thinking, complex problem solving
  • Executive presence, verbal and written communication skills, poise under pressure
  • Ability to make complex decisions and recommendations under limited direction and using high degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • PMP highly preferred
  • Preferred: Prior experience working in state health and human services agency/agencies, especially Child Support Enforcement
