Position Description Overview
The primary role of the Systems Engineer II will be to lead technical issues worked in the command center and drive those issues to resolution. He/she must possess a strong Information Technology infrastructure background and maintain technical expertise in some or all of the following: Mainframe systems, Unix, open system and/or Windows administration. This includes implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Person in this role must have a solid understanding of the financial services and payments industry, and also the tools used to support the environment.
Responsible for maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the systems environment.
Monitors systems and responds to problems and plans for growth.
Provides in depth systems analysis.
Designs, installs, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots complex operating systems software and related program products.
Provides technical consulting on the use and integration of applications into the operating environment.
Must have the ability to learn and become expert in operational tools, and provide and build technical training for existing and new infrastructure.
Must possess a client first attitude with the ability to work well under high pressure and stressful situations and deliver outstanding customer service and results 100% of the time.
Actively participate and improve lifecycle of services from inception and design through deployment.
Support services before go live through activities like system design consulting, developing framework and software platforms for operational efficiency, capacity planning and launch reviews.
Operate and maintain services including best practices with monitoring, alerting tools -Improve scalability of services using automation mechanisms.
Evolve systems by pushing for changes improving reliability.
Scope of Job
Works with corporate-wide technical staff and large external clients on complex projects and tasks. May provide coaching to team members Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to engage and escalate issues internally and externally to various vendors as well as communicate issues up through our organizational management chain.
