Position Description Overview
Sr Application Analyst to serve in the role of Site Reliability Engineer for Global Financial Solutions(GFS).
Job Responsibilities
  • Actively participate and improve lifecycle of services from inception and design through deployment, operation 
  • Support services before go live through activities like system design consulting, developing framework and software platforms for operational efficiency, capacity planning and launch reviews 
  • Operate and maintain services including best practices with monitoring, alerting tools
  • Improve scalability of services using automation mechanisms 
  • Evolve systems by pushing for changes improving reliability 
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
Scope of Job
Works on highly complex projects and issues within functional technical area. Coaches and leads less experienced IT staff and business managers. Provides leadership on projects.
  • You have a firm understanding of Computer Science fundamentals. 
  • You're a strong, well-rounded engineer. 
  • You love debugging (and are good at it). 
  • You know your toolkit inside out. 
  • You can read code in your sleep.
Works more independently with IT functional units and business units. Recommends strategies for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements.
Job Requirements
  • 6+ yrs. of related IT experience 
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science with considerable programming knowledge as core requirement 
  • Experience in data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis 
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, C#, C++, C, Perl or Ruby 
  • Experience in design and implementation of software systems with modern SDLC practices like Agile along with CI/CD 
  • Experience in Linux or any Unix environment including familiarity with shell scripts is required along with strong exposure to at least one RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, SQL Server or Sybase 
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to understand complex systems quickly
  • Strong ability to debug, optimize tasks using standard toolset in Linux 
  • Team player willing to learn from mistakes and thrive in a fast paced environment 
  • Strong communication skills with a sense of ownership and a drive for automation
  • Preferred qualifications: 
    • Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems
    • Experience in building dashboards using Splunk, AppDynamics
    • Familiarity with Saltstack or Ansible, Docker  
    • Familiarity with virtualization, network storage solutions
    • IT Architecture
