Position Description Overview

The department is comprised of two distinct teams, PremierDefense and FRIS. Both teams are responsible for a separate portfolio of clients, FRIS being significantly larger from a portfolio size perspective. The clients supported by each team are, in most cases, Financial Institutions (Banks, Credit Unions, etc). These Financial Institutions or œFI relationships utilize First Data to monitor their transactions for potential fraud and to advise them accordingly. Members of the PremierDefense team, also known as Fraud Strategists, have individually-assigned client portfolios and are solely dedicated to the daily support of those clients. Those support functions include, but are not limited to: Write client specific custom set of rules to create cases and/or deny high risk transactions. Permit the use of all the available tools in DefenseEdge.  Provide one on one consultation with an experienced fraud mitigation professional.  Provide regular reporting allowing clients to be aware of their fraud position and collaborate with their consultant.

Job Responsibilities

  • Involved from conception through end of life for a specific product, product group or product line including product management, product development and business development.  PRODUCT MANAGEMENT: Assist in tracking and reporting product performance throughout its life-cycle including product strategy, product planning and issue prioritization.  Assist with analysis that drives product pricing and bundling.  Draft internal product communication and information.  PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Manage product development process inclusive of product commercialization tasks required to bring product to market .  Assist in driving product development and enhancements including road map and statement of direction development.  Monitor customers/prospects for awareness of customer needs and perspectives.  Assist in the development of business case to support new product recommendations.  Assist in managing issues throughout the process including problem identification, root cause analysis, and client communication.

Scope of Job

Decisions have considerable impact on the end result of the business unit.  Frequent contact with internal customers.  Occasional contact with external customers.


Works independently under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Individual Contributor. No direct report responsibility.
