Position Description Overview

Individual will be part of the Network Security and Solutions and will be involved in development projects to streamline and enhance several applications. It will include all facets of development from requirements analysis, to design, development and implementation. Individual may be called on to provide assistance for production support as needed. Individual may interface with multiple levels of management both with the product development team as well the IT development and architecture teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coding, programming, testing, and analyzing application software. Supports existing business systems applications.
  • Consults with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions. Design and document moderately complex technical requirements for business applications.
  • Performs additional job duties as required.Expert knowledge of one or more development language(s) and tool(s). Must be able to determine and document complex software or system functional specifications.
  • Understands basic internal business processes or functions. Consults with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
  • Designs and develops computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on user defined requirements.
  • Writes code, programs, tests, and analyzes new application software. Negotiates with vendors to determine price and technical functionality. Formulates management policies for user rights and security.
  • Advise IT management about IT issues within the Company. Performs additional job duties as required.
  • 5+ yrs. of related IT experience. Bachelor's Degree at College of Engineering and Technology or equivalent work experience. Expert in multiple languages and tools. Some knowledge in emerging technologies.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools and methodologies. Strong understanding of complex internal business processes or functions.

Scope of Job

Works on moderately complex projects with a high breadth of responsibility. Participates in far-reaching research projects, making important decisions. Provides technical coaching to business functions and lower level programmers on moderately complex issues.


Works independently on assigned tasks. Have independent authority to make significant changes to systems and environment. May require some supervision and coaching when interfacing with multiple IT groups and business units.

Will work independently on smaller projects under the supervision or guidance of a Application Architect. Will also work as a team member on larger efforts and initiative under the leadership of Application Architect(s). May be called on to help and guide offshore team members when needed.


Job Requirements

  • 3+ yrs. of related IT experience. Bachelor Degree at College of Engineering and Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert in one or more development language(s) and tool(s). Must be able to determine and document complex software or system functional. Understands moderately complex internal business processes or functions.
  • 5-6 Yrs. of Oracle PL/SQL experience. Experience in real-time transaction process (sub-second response times) Knowledge of and experience in query performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of and experience in normalizing database. Knowledge of and experience in secure coding methodologies.
  • Knowledge of and experience in handling race conditions in code. Experience in Data warehousing and ETL. Experience in replication software Golden Gate Experience in Active-Active processing
