First Data's Operations and Call Center functions are focused on providing the outstanding client service, support and experiences that are critical to our ongoing success. Our Operations owner-associates are responsible for the stability of our global network infrastructure by helping our financial institution clients with various aspects of transaction processing, including statement management, card production and ticket-issue resolution. Our Call Center owner-associates are often the first point of contact for our business clients, and they play an important role in driving client satisfaction. They are responsible for answering questions and resolving problems on a wide range of issues, including account activation inquiries, potential fraudulent activity and our full range of products and services.

Position Description Overview

Overall responsibility is to serve as the lead for a daily production reconciliation within Settlement Operations. Reports and provides explanations on metrics reported to the recon process and exceptions. This position will consistently assess the process for adequate controls, process improvements, audit, synergies, and ongoing enhancements. Provides guidance in troubleshooting problems. Resolves client and operational concerns and escalates as needed. Addresses quality and productivity issues. Ensures overall team performance meets or exceeds company goals and objectives. Serves as team lead and can provide coaching and positive reinforcements through feedback.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain models for various business applications. Includes data gathering & statistical analysis, model development & enhancements, ongoing maintenance, etc. Understand current business procedures, problems with those current procedures, and recommend possible solutions that use predictive modeling technology. This includes data gathering and exploration, research into current industry trends, and what competitors might be doing.
  • Complete daily production recons and support other analysts as needed. Attend audit reviews and provide documentation as requested.

Work under less direct supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience.


Job Requirements


SQL, T-SQL or PL/SQL - the ability to write from simple to complex queries

SQL Server - the ability to manage large quantities of data

VBA/VBScript - to create new code for applications and troubleshoot existing code

Oracle - to produce management level reports

Other reporting tools -  Power BI, Tableau, SSAS, IBEE

Project Management experience

Ability to research and apply technology skills

Ability to document processes (Visio)



 1 to 3 years' experience in Accounting, Finance, Settlement, or Banking preferred or current student working towards degree in related field.  Experience with PCs, strong verbal, written and organizational skills, strong customer orientation.

Advanced skillset preferred in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Access primarily).  Ability to work with large amounts of data and produce summary management reporting.
