Position Description Overview

The Client Relationship Advisor plays a key role in the sales and account management process for our largest Financial Institution and/or Merchant clients. This role provides support for all aspects of the sales process, including client communication, marketing, contracts, pricing, data analytics, implementations and service. As a critical sales team member, the incumbent will have in-depth knowledge of our client's business and will help to ensure our delivery of products and services is aligned with client goals.


Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Client Executives in non-sales activities, including client meeting follow-ups
  • Collaborate with various teams internally and externally to meet client needs
  • Research client inquiries on contracts, and validate that agreements are driving proper billing
  • Facilitate client audit follow-ups and driving action item completion
  • Support new sales efforts through RFPs and preparation for in-person client meetings, contract renewals
  • Evaluate how individual clients can more effectively use First Data platforms and products, identify additional awareness and training needs
  • Business oversight on key client deliverables
  • This position can provide experience and a strong platform to move into sales roles over time
  • Knowledge of First Data products and processes
  • Detailed focus on deliverables, and ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Ask probing questions to uncover how projects and other deliverables are progressing
  • Awareness of process/operational/risk controls
  • Strong communication skills, including effective executive-level writing and ability to work directly with senior client contacts
  • Research skills, including working with contracts and fee agreements
  • Critical thinking skills, adept at problem-solving, identifying and crafting solutions, support prioritization requirements
  • Passion for finding effective ways to meet client needs and self-motivated to creatively drive projects and deliverables


Scope of Job

  • Previous experience working with institutional customers
  • Platform, product, contract, account or risk management, sales or client service experience would be helpful


    Autonomy

    Works with minimal guidance.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 7+ years experience in sales, or account management/client service for large clients
    • Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Financial acumen analytical skills, and experience preparing financial reporting and preparing data for presentation to leaders and clients
    • Strong project management and organizing skills proven ability to manage a project within time and budget expectations
    • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
    • Experience in banking or payments industry a plus
    • Prior experience successfully working in a dynamic, matrix environment
    • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency in sales/CRM software a plus.
    • Travel required: Approximately 10-20%
