Position Description Overview

This is a leadership position for an experienced and technical security professional to focus on the Data Loss Prevention strategies and technologies within a complex and technical environment. This candidate will be the Global Data Loss Prevention Director.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • The candidate should possess a broad-based and in-depth knowledge of DLP technologies and concepts, along with complex security technologies, tools and methodologies.
  • The candidate will lead and deliver DLP technologies and programs globally, establishing a world class global defense in depth ecosystem for protecting critical data.
  • The candidate must have a strong technical security background, be able to manage people internationally, communicate effectively and understand DLP methodology and how to apply in a large diverse environment.
  • The candidate must also be capable of driving and applying these principles and expertise on a global basis.

 

Scope of Job

Resource to focus on the Data Loss Prevention strategies and technologies within FDC. Critical to ensuring First Data is protected from unauthorized data exfiltration and ensuring recent $20M Symantec purchase is properly implemented. Lead and drive DLP technologies and programs globally, establishing a world class global defense in depth ecosystem for protecting critical data.   Provide leadership to engineering efforts to the technologies that align for data loss prevention Collaborate with multiple cyber, compliance and business teams on identifying insider threats, code of conduct, and broken business processes that are mishandling sensitive data. Drive global consistency for all data loss prevention efforts.

 

Autonomy

Allocates resources to support IT strategy. Requires minimal direction from manager on hiring, firing, performance reviews and compensation administration. Resolves routine issues. Escalates serious issues to more senior management.

 

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must be highly ethical and act honorably, honestly, responsibly, and legally
  • Candidate must be able to weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate issues to customers and management
  • Candidate must have knowledge and understanding of DLP technologies and methodologies
  • Candidate will need to provide leadership and guidance on how to design, implement, maintain, and deliver DLP services for a diverse global environment
  • Candidate must have a proven track record in implementing data security and data protection technologies and methodology
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting information to groups
  • Candidate must have strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
  • Candidate must be able to manage time and priorities with multiple tasks and projects
  • Candidate must possess previous management experience and leadership skills
  • Candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities and skills, including independent decision-making abilities
  • Candidate must be able to influence others in a positive, goal-directed manner
  • Data Loss Prevention Encryption
  • Requires 6+ years of related technical and business experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications. CISSP or specialized GIAC certification is preferred.
