VP of Operations Technology

Job Description



This is a key leadership role in the technology organization - supporting First Data's Chief Operations Officer's global organizations.


Job Responsibilities

·        Work with operations partners to identify opportunities to bring technology solutions which will drive improved controls and cost savings.

·        Assist with cost benefit analyses and oversee execution of initiatives

·        Technology initiative intake process through the governance process

·        Partner closely with business partners to analyze new projects

·        Manage the financials of the portfolio of work

·        Work with the divisional financial officers to monitor the GL actuals and review forecasting against budgets

·        Conduct and lead applicable governance and project status review meetings

·        Manage portfolio management artifacts, communications, metrics, and management reporting

·        Build strong relationships within First Data, both in the Operations and the Technology divisions

·        Create a collaborative partnership among executive leaders and portfolio stakeholders that enables and supports resource demand planning, change management, and project pipeline planning decisions

·        Understand the key business challenges and opportunities

·        Work with other organizations in support of continued improvement initiative, such as; project management best practices, new or improved tools, and process improvements that drive efficiency, reduce costs and add value


Required Skills

·        Strong background and knowledge of business operations processes and workflows (10+ years of related technical and business experience)

·        Project portfolio management skills (project intake, resource demand planning, budget management)

·        Strong project management skills

·        Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service

·        Demonstrated skill running effective meetings and getting buy-in and participation from executive leaders

·        Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives

·        Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels

·        Ability to organize and present project portfolio reports, proposals, and other related portfolio information

·        Facilitate governance, project reviews, steering, and other project related meetings

·        Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project)

·        Familiarity with Clarity,  Cognos, and SharePoint

·        Strong Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) background (Certifications)

·        Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile development processes

·        Ability to provide support indirectly/in matrix managed resources

·        Executive Presence

·        Bachelor's Degree/ Master's Degree
