First Data Business Consultant Job Description

The worlds recognized global payments processing leader is seeking energetic sales people for a field-based Business Consultant position.  This position will give you the ability to sell the full suite of First Data solutions to small and midsize businesses including: point of sale solution (Clover), loyalty solution (Perka), Data Analytics (Insightics), Security & Compliance (TransArmor), credit, debit, and various cloud-based business solution applications.  This is accomplished by using a solution-based, consultative selling approach designed to help Merchants grow their businesses.

This position will be focused on self-sourcing merchant sales opportunities through various actions, including speaking with prospects at strategic partner locations, working with partner representatives to acquire leads and promote our services, and using co-branded marketing collateral in the partner geographical footprint to source new opportunities.  Requires ability to generate new opportunities by cold-calling on merchants; the successful candidate must be able to manage business partnerships and have the ability to self-source business.  The position will also be responsible for retaining clients by building relationships and growing portfolios through relationship management and cross sales.

 

The successful candidate must be willing to work with sourcing partners on weekends and outside of traditional 8-5 hours if requested.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Must exceed minimum partner contact requirements, visits and time at partner locations, weekly opportunities generated, and minimum clients required
  • Technologically savvy; comfortable with tablet and cloud-based solutions
  • Passion for continuously learning about and leveraging new technology to help grow small businesses
  • Strong cold-calling skills and ability to self-source
  • Hunter mentality with drive to identify and follow-through on opportunities
  • Solution selling experience preferred, not required
  • A drive for self-directed learning and personal development
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Highly self-motivated, energetic, creative, and personable

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience and proven success in selling Business to Consumer is preferred

·        Experience and capability to build new and immediate relationships of trust

·        Demonstrated success and achievement of challenging goals and expectations

  • Ability to develop a plan to effectively produce top line revenue growth
  • Diverse experience networking and prospecting using social media, service organizations, cold calling, and other sales skills to help achieve revenue goals
  • Strong listening skills to ensure success as main point of contact for your portfolio of clients;  relationship management or account management experience a plus
  • Effective communication skills are required; both written and verbal
  • Previous experience using Salesforce.com and proficiency using Microsoft Office are strongly preferred.
