Job Description

The Greater Omaha Chamber is seeking a motivated, experienced professional to aggressively attract new businesses into Greater Omaha that will create new jobs and investment; assist existing businesses with their plans to expand in the metro area; and work to improve our product offerings to achieve those goals.

Do you have:   

  • A degree in economics, business, or related field, and two years of progressively responsible experience in economic development related transferable experience?                 

Are you interested in:

  • Preparing responses to client Requests for Information to position the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership region for successful business locations. Activities to achieve success include identifying appropriate building and site solutions, preparing incentive summaries and estimates, developing business climate comparisons and community profile information, identifying training and other human resource connections, and coordinating information from government, utility, transportation and other industries into a comprehensive response.
  • Developing relationships and maintaining contact with prospective client companies throughout the sales process to fulfill the needs of the client as they move through their site selection process.
  • Coordinating and managing prospect site visits.
  • Working in a seamless and transparent fashion with Partners and allies.
  • Identifying and securing potential sites that could be controlled and taken through the Partnership’s GO Ready Site Program. 
  • Serve as lead or co-lead staff person to selected Targeted Advisory Groups (Data Center TAG, Site Investigation and Development TAG, others) as assigned. 
  • Utilizing appropriate programs and apps such as County GIS and Google Earth, create maps, indicating site and building locations, utility locations, flood plain and topographic information.
  • Responding to general information requests on Omaha and qualify each.
  • Conducting public presentations on economic development.

Are you:

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro (PDF), with the ability to learn other programs as required?
  • Familiar with GIS based websites?
  • Detail oriented and a strong team player?
  • A demonstrated leader with excellent communication skills (written and oral)?
  • A strong marketer with excellent negotiation skills?
  • Able to drive and/or provide your own transportation?
