The Clinical Director is responsible for the programmatic and clinical supervision of all NOVA TC programs.  The Clinical Director provides clinical supervision, case review and consultation, and employee training.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Master’s Degree in Human Services field such as Psychology, Counseling, or Sociology preferred.  Licensed as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADC) required. 
  • Six years experience in a clinical setting.
  • Three years managerial experience to include supervision of employees.   
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize work, multitask and utilize individual and team-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and ability as a Therapist with a general population including specific experience in the treatment of substance use disorders.
  • Ability to provide on-call crisis coverage and deal with crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of the physiological and psychological effects of substance    use on human behavior.
  • Knowledge of family/social interaction patterns and clinical theory related to systems intervention.
  • Knowledge of theories of adolescent and adult psychopathology.
  • Experience with personality and behavioral disorders preferred.
  • General knowledge of treatment techniques associated with therapeutic intervention including the treatment community model and its application to the treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in clinical consultation.
  • Knowledge of formal psychological testing instruments and their application to clinical practice.
  • Ability to form effective therapeutic alliances with program member and their families, and to collaborate successfully with other employees.
  • Acquire and maintain on the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Service’s Preferred Provider listing. 
  • Valid driver’s license that meets agency standards, and ability to meet transportation needs of agency.
  • Acquire and maintain certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
