    Description

    DC Planning Supervisor

    **$500 Hiring Bonus

     

    Job Summary: 

     

    Coordinates order allocation, shipping/delivery dates, and movement of goods both to and from the distribution center. Is also the point person for questions regarding orders and shipments for the distribution center, as well as some claims.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Coordinates the overall workflow for multiple departments within the distribution center.
    • Coordinates all inbound and outbound loads to meet budgeted freight spend targets.
    • Analyzes and achieves budgeted on time delivery percents.
    • Analyzes production needs for upcoming week and communicates product movement to meet production demands.
    • Maintains an operational readiness rate for production of 98%.
    • Works with the receiving supervisor to minimize receiving errors and meet budgeted adjustment targets in this area.
    • Allocates orders and communicates workload for each area to the appropriate supervisors to help maximize staff utilization.
    • Works with held orders and communicates needs between production/distribution and office staff to get orders released for pulling.
    • Coordinates and puts dock schedules together for Shipping and Receiving departments.
    • Tracks and communicates hot shipments and follows up with carriers where appropriate.
    • Files claims on inbound freight shipped with Marianna preferred carriers.
    • Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

    Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associates Degree with equivalent experience accepted.
    • At least 2 years of supervisory planning/coordinating experience in a fast paced work environment.
    • Ability to think on your feet and adjust plans on the fly is a must.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Problem-solving ability.
    • Ability to learn Marianna's freight policies and agreements.
    • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and IATA requirements.
    • Ability to operate stand-up forklifts and riding pallet jacks.
    • Excellent supervisory, computer, and communication skills.
    • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate skills to employees.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English competently.

     

    Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills, Abilities:

     

    • Freight experience.
    • Advanced computer skills.
    • Knowledge of Pitney Bowes and other shipping systems.
    • Computer proficient in AS 400, RF Scanners, and Microsoft Office software

     

    Environmental Conditions:

     

    • Manufacturing environment – some temperature extremes, dust, noise and wet.
