Patient Services Representative II

 

We’re looking for the right person to join our enthusiastic and caring team of professionals as a Patient Services Representative II. This employee will be responsible, service-focused, and courteous in all encounters for assigned daily operations in connection with billing within the Finance division of the VNA, subsidiaries and any company under management contract. This position provides timely and accurate recording of all transactions for said operations. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

 

DUTIES:

  • Research and reconcile missing information on billing statements, claims and/or payments.  This may require contact with internal or external sources, the extent dependent upon Finance division policies.

  • Ensure claims and/or billing statements are accurate and billed within the guidelines of the Finance department.
  • Complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations as appropriate for the position.  Complies with billing requirements established by 3rd party Insurance companies.  Complies with all policies and procedures of the agency, including those specified in the employee handbook.
  • Input data into appropriate software application.  Balance all input back to source documents.  Perform reasonableness tests as appropriate.
  • Produce any statistical reports specific to area by deadlines set forth by management.
  • Keep current with agency policies relating to position/department.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client and VNA information.
  • Keep direct supervisor informed of organizational and task related developments which they need to know to carry out their job responsibilities.
  • Communication with payers to ensure appropriate authorization for services and to ensure timely payment of claims.
  • Accomplish timely and accurate miscellaneous projects assigned by Manager of Billing and management.
  • Maintain appropriate files of records pertinent to work product.
  • Excel at customer service, both internal and external, as set forth by Finance division policies.
  • Contributes to employee satisfaction through positive interactions and professionalism.
  • Promotes the growth of the VNA by representing the organization, its mission, and its role in the community in a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate required, associate degree in business or related field preferred.

  • Four or more years of experience in the medical billing field.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,

  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, managers, and general public.

  • Proficient in MS-Office applications, email, internet usage and navigating network folders.

  • Ability to multi-task.
