JOB SUMMARY



This position is accountable for conducting efficient sales transactions while providing excellent customer service. You will work with a team of retail professionals to help ensure we make the best use of our resources to achieve our Mission.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide excellent service for Goodwill customers


  • Assist Customers with purchases and pricing


  • Efficiently operate a computer based point of sale system, handle cash and run a credit card machine while being responsible for a balanced drawer


  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to include the "Round It Up" campaign


  • Stock product on shelves, racks and on sales floor, ensuring the sales floor is fully stocked with new product at all times during hours of operation


  • Use basic math skills to ensure correct change, be able to count back change to ensure accuracy


  • Adhere to the Retail Operations dress code and follow all Goodwill Policies and Procedures


  • Clean inside retail floor area: organize shelves and racks, pick up trash, put away carts or racks, etc.


  • Attend to dressing rooms and return merchandise to sales floor


  • Work closely with Store Manager to set development goals and objectives


  • Be aware of retail store goals and meet or exceed them daily


  • Assist Retail Associate with the following duties as needed:



    • Stocking product in store


    • Salvaging


    • Custodial duties


  • Must be able to work flexible hours as required in order to meet operational needs of the store


  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position


  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants


  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  • GED or High School Diploma preferred

  • Minimum typing speed of 40wpm preferred

  • Knowledge of Computer applications preferred

  • Customer service experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • To be a high-energy, positive contributor.


  • Previous cash handling experience helpful, but not required.


  • Must have basic math skills.


  • Must attend monthly retail store meetings and scheduled in-service training


  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.


  • Able to move and think quickly.


  • To bring a sense of urgency.


  • Desire to work hard and perform well with dedication and great work ethic.


  • Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors and other associates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS



Medium - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Involves walking or standing most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling





WORK ENVIRONMENT



Moderate - Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)
