JOB SUMMARY



This position is accountable for accepting donations and processing donated goods to be sold on the retail floor. You will work with a team of retail professionals to help ensure we make the best use of our resources to achieve our mission.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assist donors with unloading items and pre-sort donations, varying from small items to large furniture, electronics, etc.


  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting donors in a timely manner.


  • Make decisions on product quality and assist in pricing items accordingly.


  • Inspect, hang, sort and tag clothing and donations in accordance with Goodwill Retail Operations Policy.


  • Assist in processing, pricing and distribution of hard lines.


  • Stock product on shelves, racks and on sales floor, ensuring the sales floor is fully stocked with new product at all times during hours of operation.


  • Rotate/Pull old/unsold product from sales floor.


  • Work in a fast pace environment with a sense of urgency.


  • Clean inside and outside areas of store to include: organizing shelves and racks, picking up trash, collecting carts, snow removal, etc.


  • Adhere to the appropriate dress code for your position to include personal protection equipment/clothing.


  • Meet or exceed all production/processing goals .


  • Work closely with Store Managerto set development goals and objectives.


  • Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.


  • Must be able to work flexible hours as required in order to meet operational needs of the store


  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  1. GED or High School Diploma preferred


  2. Minimum typing speed of 40wpm preferred


  3. Knowledge of Computer applications preferred


  4. Customer service experience required


  5. Previous production, warehouse, donation collection, receiving experience helpful.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • To be a high-energy, positive contributor.


  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.


  • Able to repetitively lift over 50lbs, use dolly and pallet jack as required.


  • Must attend monthly retail store meetings and scheduled in-service training


  • Knowledgeable of donation guidelines and recalled items.


  • Able to move and think quickly.


  • To bring a sense of urgency.


  • Desire to work hard and perform well with dedication and great work ethic.


  • Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors and other associates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS





Medium - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Involves walking or standing most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling







WORK ENVIRONMENT







Moderate - Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)
