Application Architect

Job Description

The Application Architect has overall responsibility for the integrated architectural framework across the company’s application landscape to ensure applications, data, and infrastructure provide effective, secure, and highly available business solutions. The role works with the leadership, development, database, and infrastructure teams to ensure the application architecture supports the business needs and objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an integrated architectural framework across the application, data, and infrastructure landscape
  • Develop tactical and strategic application architecture roadmaps for meeting overall application requirements
  • Work with leadership to align the application architecture roadmap ensuring support of business needs and objectives
  • Ensure the application architecture stack is agile, integrated, reliable, scalable, and highly available
  • Assure designs comply with security standards meeting our Client security and privacy program requirements
  • Research, document and maintain an as-is and to-be application architecture reference
  • Identify gaps, required improvements, and technically viable and sustainable solutions within the overall architecture
  • Research and analyze emerging technology, trends, and solutions to meet required application requirements
  • Lead software evaluations of all new architecture components and software applications
  • Facilitate integration between custom applications, purchased software, and external client and supply chain systems
  • Preferred Skills:
  • 8+ years of experience with modern service architectures, technologies, and API’s
  • Expert in enterprise application architecture domains, including application services, data, and components
  • Deep knowledge and experience implementing application architecture and software solutions, including identity management, integration platform technologies, web service management, software integration platforms, data management, document management, security mitigation, messaging, workflow automation, and electronic forms.
  • Demonstrated experience with technically complex software research, evaluation, selection, and implementation
  • Skilled in designing, developing, implementing, and performance tuning .NET web applications, including ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Experience working with TFS supporting Agile practices and continuous integration
  • Fully proficient with multiple relational and dimensional databases
  • Experience working on Agile teams and with Agile practices
