Plant Engineer

A national cold chain solutions provider based out of Eastern Nebraska is looking for a Plant Engineer to join their team. 

The Plant Engineer oversees all maintenance within the plant, including the plant, grounds, high pressure pasteurization (HPP) equipment, ammonia (NH3) refrigeration, and rolling equipment (PITs), as well as the teams who maintain them. One essential requirement is to ensure the safety of those in our two plants through the maintenance of our high pressure and refrigeration systems.  A related requirement is to ensure the consistent uptime of our plants through proactive maintenance. Another important requirement of this role is to provide direction for the teams operating the respective maintenance components.

Plant Engineer Duties and Qualifications:
• Oversees all preventative and reactive maintenance tasks within the plant
• Provides leadership to two maintenance teams – HPP and General, including communication of tasks, prioritization, and team development
• Collaborates with HPP Engineer regarding the proactive and reactive maintenance of HPP equipment
• Collaborates with NH3 Engineer regarding the proactive and reactive maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems
• Ensures effective operation of refrigeration, ammonia detection, ventilation systems, facilities, and maintenance.
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be physically capable of wearing an SCBA (and chemical suit), respirator and serving as member of emergency response team.  Position requires 24/7 hr. availability for emergency call-in at any time.  Must be able to trouble-shoot ammonia system

Plant Engineer Qualifications:
• Industrial Engineering degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering production environment
• Knowledge of ammonia systems
• NH3 Certification a plus
