Description

Overview

The overall purpose of this job is to develop and execute marketing, public relations communications and brand management strategies that contribute to the accomplishment of organizational strategies while elevating and positioning Immanuel as a regional leader in Senior Services. This position is responsible for developing and managing a wide variety of integrated marketing and communications programs, products and services across all communication channels ensuring alignment with Immanuel's Mission and CHRIST Promises.

Responsibilities

Key Areas

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Strategic

  • Establishes and affirms sales strategy, processes and techniques.
  • Works closely with the Community/Center Executive Directors on sales and marketing strategies.
  • Develops and implements integrated strategic marketing and communication plans aligning with and furthering strategic operations, promoting awareness and enhancing perceived value across key consumer and stakeholder audiences.
  • Develops and implements public relations and communication strategies that cultivate, expand and enhance relationships with key external and internal audiences including media, government and business partners, Board, ELCA, and other stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements social media strategies and tactics to increase visibility, promote and enhance image and create customer and donor opportunities.
  • Develops and implements internal and external communication strategies and tactics to promote, enhance and protect the brand.
  • Develops and directs market research and analysis activities to determine potential new or evolving markets and opportunities, customer wants and needs.
  • Analyzes Immanuel and competitors product offerings, actual and perceived strengths and weaknesses, and capabilities to identify and recommend strategies for building on strengths, reducing vulnerabilities, dealing with current and preparing for future threats.
  • Develops and maintains current business profiles for Immanuel, strategic partners and key competitors.
  • Researches and assesses market potential of products or services including pricing, sales potentials, marketing and sales channels.
  • Actively cultivates, engages and manages press relations to maximize positive coverage, and position Immanuel and its leaders to further strategic goals.
  • Assesses media and external audience opportunities and coaches and prepares appropriate leaders, board members, partners, employees or other parties including developing talking points, speeches or presentation materials and crisis communication.
  • Develops and manages marketing, public relations and communications annual plans and budgets.

Sales & Marketing

  • Establishes analytic tools to evaluate lead generation and closing effectiveness. Communicates frequently (no less than monthly) relevant information regarding sales effectiveness.
  • Establishes and supports key referral networks.
  • Assures achievement of Immanuel's occupancy/enrollment goals.
  • Coordinates new, enhanced, or retired product or service offering announcements to maximize market penetration, enhance or protect brand image.
  • Oversees internal and external printing, production and mass mailing services.

Staff Leadership

  • Leads the Sales & Marketing team for the organization.
  • Establishes and reviews the key responsibilities of the Senior Living Consultants position and performance management.
  • Plans, coordinates and attends quarterly sales team meetings and other meetings with field leadership, as necessary.
  • Directly or indirectly manages department staff including hiring, coaching, developing and appraising.

Other

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Education-

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Management, Communications or related field is required.
  • Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education requirement.

Experience-

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in Sales/Marketing is required.
  • Five (5) years of experience developing and managing comprehensive marketing and communications plans.
  • Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective professional marketing and communications pieces targeting internal and external audiences at all socio economic levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage comprehensive integrated marketing and communications strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with Media, Business Partners, Boards, and peers.

  • Excellent knowledge of marketing and communication principles including social, print and broadcast media design, development, planning, production and budgeting.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis management communication.
  • Strong knowledge of brand management strategies and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of business, product, and customer research and analysis with demonstrated skill in developing and presenting comprehensive and useful reports with appropriate and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems quickly, adding value beyond customer expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize prioritize and effectively use time, resources, and talents.
  • Strong ethical leadership skills including demonstrating personal accountability and responsibility.
