Sociology Instructor

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Sociology Instructor. 

Responsibilities: Principles of Sociology (SOCI-1010), Issues of Unity and Diversity (SOCI-2150) and Marriage and Family (SOCI-2250).  Service on division and college-wide committees, student advising, and a willingness to possibly develop additional teaching competencies to meet institutional/divisional needs are also expected.  Must be learning centered, willing to travel and teach at various College sites, possess a willingness/ability to teach using distance learning technologies and willingness/ability to develop and instruct on-line classes.

Qualifications:   Master’s degree in Sociology or a closely related field required; minimum of 18 hours of graduate-level work in Sociology is also required; two years teaching experience (preferably community college level) also strongly preferred; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the required duties.  Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Salary: Commensurate. 

Start Date: Fall 2018.
