Conducts referral assessments and makes determinations on program placement. Coordinates processes and ensures that contractual compliance is maintained.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Conducts assessment of program applicants to determine placement into Boys Town; coordinates the transfer and placement of participants within the Boys Town Continuum.
Evaluates referrals, applications, and individuals seeking acceptance to Boys Town, including researching social histories and backgrounds for each applicant to determine eligibility; makes recommendations on placement and care and communicates potential placements to appropriate staff.
Coordinates pre-admission interviews with youth, parents, agencies, and court personnel. Advises, counsels, and coordinates the completion of the admissions process with agencies, courts, and parents.
Communicates in a timely fashion acceptance, rejection, or need for information for all new applications to referral sources.
Manages admission waitlists and actively communicates with contracting agencies and participants on anticipated intake date.
Completes initial intake and all intake processes for all participants.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with various referral sources including referral agencies, contract agencies, courts, and private referral sources.
Tracks the admissions process via the National Database and other databases.
Initiates and coordinates the completion of all contractual and financial agreements regarding participant placement and provides advice on solutions for families and children.
Services contractual relationships and maintains compliance with local, state, and federal agency guidelines regarding the placement of youth.
Establishes positive relationships with referral sources to ensure that Boys Town is the agency of choice for placement of their children.
Assists each referring organization with fulfilling their placement needs.
Assures program compliance with all terms and conditions defined in contracts with participant placement agencies.
Monitors legislation, administrative rule making, and judicial proceedings that may impact service to the youth.
Attends workshops and conferences as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care.
Skilled at transferring cultural knowledge and experience into an integrated approach to communicating, interacting, and building relationships with families and youth.
High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
Ability to quickly make decisions in sensitive and sometimes critical areas and present decisions to appropriate individuals.
Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.
Strong knowledge of Boys Town Model.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.
Knowledge and previous experience with the specific subset of youth and families served, based on area/contract of assignment, may be required. This could include familiarity with culture, tradition, customs, community practices, and diverse backgrounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a Social Services field preferred.
Experience with agency contracts, managed care, and Medicaid or insurance reimbursement preferred.
