Customer Service Representative

Processes orders and resolves customer service issues. This position also assists with making purchases and with adding new products to the BT Press website.

This is a part time position working between 16 - 22 hours per week!

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Processes orders and returns, addresses customer service issues, and responds to requests.

  • Processes catalog orders from the web site and purchase orders received by e-mail, fax, telephone, or regular mail; processes returns issuing refunds or credits to customer accounts.

  • Prints, verifies, and mails Boys Town Press invoices.

  • Checks status of pending orders, forwards orders to warehouse for shipping, and traces undelivered orders.

  • Prepares routine reports generated from database information.

  • Handles complaints and works to resolve customer issues to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

  • Maintains files on all customers, checks customer account history for billing purposes, and follows up on past-due accounts.

  • Answers questions from customers about resources; answers questions about workshops and products.

  • Sends information upon request including publisher requests, bid information, review copies, catalogs, and brochures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of BT Press products and policies.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner.

  • High level of customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.

  • Ability to type accurately and proficiently at a high rate of speed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience; customer service experience is preferred.
